Saints Perpetua and Felicity for Kids | Courage and Friendship

Mar 2
2 min read

Perpetua and Felicity come from different circumstances but share their love for Jesus. In prison they pray and encourage one another, remaining faithful through the fear and grief caused by persecution.

The free resources focus on their friendship and courage without reenacting violence. Teachers and families can help children recall the story, acknowledge fear honestly, and plan a safe act of support for someone who needs help.

Available free on YouTube since March 2, 2026. Watch the complete video above. Runtime: 3:21. Suggested ages: about 7–11.

Talk about it together

How were Perpetua and Felicity different?

How did they help one another in prison?

Were their children forgotten?

What can you do for someone who is afraid?

A companion on the hard road

Draw two footprints beside each other. In one put a story detail about how the saints supported each other. In the other write a safe way you can support a worried friend. Add a handprint naming a trusted adult who can help when the worry is serious.

A note for parents and teachers

This story includes imprisonment, childbirth, separation from infants, and martyrdom. Preview it and allow questions or passing without pressure.

Felicity was enslaved, not simply a freely employed servant. The video is a simplified retelling of an early martyr account; the ladder vision belongs to that account. Their deaths are not invitations for children to enter danger or reject safe family care.

Pray together

Jesus, strengthen those who are afraid. Saints Perpetua and Felicity, pray that we may be faithful friends. Amen.
