Not Just a Past Event
The Resurrection is not only something that happened. It is something that happens—something we are invited to live.
We believe that Jesus rose from the dead. But we also believe He still lives, and that His Resurrection power is at work in us, around us, and through us.
“I am the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in Me, though he die, yet shall he live.”—John 11:25
The Resurrection is not a museum artifact. It is a living force that reshapes how we suffer, how we hope, how we love, and how we die.
Resurrection Is a Way of Life
To live the Resurrection means:
To forgive, even when it feels impossible.
To hope, even in the face of grief.
To love, even when it costs everything.
To believe that goodness is stronger than evil, and life stronger than death.
Living the Resurrection doesn’t mean pretending everything is fine. It means trusting that even in pain, God is doing something new.
Our Suffering Has a Future
The Resurrection does not erase the wounds of the Cross. Jesus still bears them. But now they are glorified. They are no longer signs of defeat—they are signs of love.
This is how we are called to live:
Carrying our own crosses
Trusting that our wounds are not wasted
Believing that suffering united to Christ becomes fruitful
“If we have died with Him, we shall also live with Him.” —2 Timothy 2:11
The Christian Life Is Resurrection-Shaped
Every Christian life is meant to follow the Paschal pattern:
Suffering (Good Friday)
Waiting (Holy Saturday)
Rising (Easter Sunday)
This pattern plays out again and again—in grief, in growth, in forgiveness, in dying to sin and rising to grace.
To live the Resurrection is not to escape this world. It is to bring new life into it. It is to become, in your own way, a witness to the risen Christ.
You Are a Sign of the Resurrection
When you show mercy, when you endure patiently, when you speak the truth in love—you bear witness that Christ is risen.
You may not see the fruit immediately. But your life, hidden with Christ in God, is already being transformed.
“The Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you.” —Romans 8:11
The Resurrection is not just about what happens after death. It is about what happens now, when the risen Christ begins to live in you.
Why This Matters
If Christ is truly risen, then everything matters.
Every act of love.
Every tear offered in faith.
Every moment of courage.
Every prayer whispered in the dark.
To live the Resurrection is to live as if death is not the end—because it isn’t.It is to live in the light of a dawn that has already broken, even if we still walk through shadows.
It is to live like Jesus is alive, because He is.
Reflection Question
What is one area of your life that still feels like Holy Saturday—and what would it look like to live there with true Easter faith?
