Helping children discover virtue through the witness of the saints
The Virtues in Practice program is used by many Catholic schools and families to help children grow in holiness throughout the year. It organizes formation into a three-year cycle that focuses on Faith, Hope, and Charity, with monthly virtues connected to real saints who lived those virtues in their daily lives.
Over the past few years, I have created a growing library of short, child-friendly saint stories for my YouTube channel. Recently, a teacher reached out to share that her class used my video on Saint Tarcisius during the month of Reverence, and she even mailed me a handwritten note of thanks. That meant a lot to me, and it made me realize that other teachers and parents using Virtues in Practice might benefit from having all these saint stories collected in one place.
This page brings them together so that anyone using the program can easily find stories that match the year they are teaching.
How the Playlists Are Organized
To keep things simple and practical, I created three playlists that match the three program years:
Virtues in Practice – Faith Year Saints
Virtues in Practice – Hope Year Saints
Virtues in Practice – Charity Year Saints
These playlists contain saints who appear directly in the official Virtues in Practice chart (Grades K through 8), drawn from the same list used by many dioceses and Catholic schools.
Each playlist will grow over time as I continue producing new stories.
Faith Year Saints
The Faith Year highlights virtues such as faith, reverence, stewardship, honesty, mercy, justice, and responsibility. The following saints in the playlist appear in the program during this cycle:
Saint Augustine
Saint Tarcisius
Saint Elizabeth of Hungary
Saint Nicholas
Saint Maximilian Kolbe
Saint Kateri Tekakwitha
Saint John Vianney
Saint Dominic
Hope Year Saints
The Hope Year focuses on hope, studiousness, humility, patience, fidelity, cheerfulness, obedience, perseverance, and diligence. The playlist includes:
Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton
Saint Edith Stein (Teresa Benedicta of the Cross)
Saint Therese of Lisieux
Saint Monica
Saint Cecilia
Saint Teresa of Avila
Saint Juan Diego
Charity Year Saints
The Charity Year teaches children to love God and neighbor with a generous heart. Its virtues include charity, friendship, courtesy, purity, fortitude, prudence, self control, and respect. The saints in this playlist include:
Saint Vincent De Paul
Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati
Saint Martin de Porres
Saint Dominic Savio
Saint Agnes
Saint Joan of Arc
Saint John Paul II
Saint Patrick
Saint Josephine Bakhita
Why Saint Stories Matter
Children learn virtue best when they see it lived. The saints make holiness concrete. They show that faithfulness is possible in childhood, in family life, in hardship, and in ordinary circumstances.
My goal with these videos is to offer simple storytelling that children can follow easily, with gentle visuals that work well in classrooms or homes. I want the saints to feel close and real, not distant figures from the past.
If these stories help even a few children love Jesus more and imitate the lives of the saints, then the work is worthwhile.
A Personal Invitation to Teachers and Catechists
If you use these stories in your classroom or parish program, I would truly love to hear from you. Your feedback helps me understand what is helpful, what could be improved, and what new stories might serve you and your students in the future.

Please feel free to share this page with other teachers or families who are using Virtues in Practice. It would be a joy to hear how your students respond to the lives of the saints.
