Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque and the Sacred Heart for Kids
Updated: Oct 3
In this gentle retelling, Saint Margaret Mary prays in a quiet chapel and encounters the love signified by Jesus’s Sacred Heart. Her response is simple: love Jesus and help others know his love.
Families and classrooms can use the teaching pages to explore Sacred Heart devotion and turn gratitude into an ordinary act of kindness. The resources distinguish reported spiritual experiences from the faith all Christians are called to live.

How did she respond?
How can you respond to Jesus’s love?
A heart of loving choices
Draw a heart divided into three spaces: prayer, kindness, and thanks. Add one realistic choice to each and choose one for today. Do not promise perfect feelings or extraordinary experiences.
A note for parents and teachers
The retelling simplifies Margaret Mary’s reported apparitions and dramatizes dialogue. Such private revelations do not add to Christ’s definitive revelation. Children need not have visions or constant peaceful feelings to be loved by God.
Pray together
Jesus, help us know your love and answer with hearts that are patient, generous, and kind. Saint Margaret Mary, pray for us. Amen.
