Saint Katharine Drexel: Why Not You? | Catholic Saint Story for Kids
Updated: Oct 18
She asked the pope to send someone to help. His answer changed her life: “Why not, my child, yourself become a missionary?” Discover the story of Saint Katharine Drexel, a wealthy young woman who learned to give God her time, her talents, and herself. Through prayer, uncertainty, and courage, she founded the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament and helped open doors to education for Black and Native American children. This animated Catholic story invites children and families to discover how love for Jesus in the Eucharist can become love in action—and why we don’t have to be perfect or fearless to begin helping someone. Sometimes we ask, “Why doesn’t somebody help?” Why not you?
After watching, families and catechists can talk about one moment that stood out, what it shows about following Jesus, and one small way to put that lesson into practice this week.
