Talk about it together
How did Mary Magdalene recognize Jesus?
What helped the travelers to Emmaus recognize him?
What did Jesus give his friends besides proof he was alive?
How can you witness to Jesus' love?
An Easter good-news path
Draw a path with three stops: Mary at the tomb, a meal at Emmaus, and the disciples sent on mission. Add a peaceful action you can choose at the final stop.
A note for parents and teachers
The opening recalls Jesus' death. This retelling combines Gospel passages; adults can compare selected encounters with Scripture using the leader guide.
The retelling harmonizes several accounts and adds connecting details. John 20 describes Jesus inviting Thomas to touch his wounds but does not state that he did so. The Ascension does not mean Jesus stops caring for us; he promises the Holy Spirit and his abiding presence.
Pray together
Risen Jesus, fill us with your peace. Help us recognize your love and share your good news with gentleness. Send your Holy Spirit to guide us. Amen.
