Isaac was the son Abraham and Sarah had waited so long to receive. God had promised that their family would continue through him. Then came a journey Abraham could not understand.
God Will Provide follows Abraham and Isaac up the mountain, through Isaac’s question about the missing lamb, to the moment when God stops Abraham and provides a ram. Father and son return together, and God’s promise remains.

A promise that points toward Jesus
The story begins with God’s gift of Isaac and ends by looking toward Jesus. Isaac carries the wood; centuries later, Jesus carries his cross. Isaac is spared when God provides a ram. Jesus freely gives his life for us and rises from the dead.
The Letter to the Hebrews tells us that Abraham believed God could even raise the dead. The video invites children to see how this faith points toward the victory of Jesus, the Lamb of God.

God’s care does not mean we will understand every difficulty or receive everything we want. We can bring him our questions, receive help from others, and keep choosing what is good.

A note for parents and catechists
This story includes a difficult test. Preview it for your group and reassure children that God stops Abraham and Isaac is not harmed. Keep the discussion centered on God’s faithfulness, Isaac’s rescue, and Jesus’ love. The leader guide includes additional guidance for teaching this passage with care.
Genesis does not specify Isaac’s age or name the angel. The video uses artistic interpretation for these details and imagined gestures, then closes with a Christian reflection on Jesus.
