The Annunciation for Kids | Mary's Yes and the Coming of Jesus
Gabriel brings an extraordinary message to Mary in Nazareth: she will bear Jesus, the Son of the Most High. She listens, asks how this will happen, and freely accepts God's plan.
The free leader guide and student pages trace the encounter in Luke 1. A listen-ask-respond activity helps children see that trust can include honest questions and thoughtful, safe choices.
Available free on YouTube since March 18, 2026. Watch the complete video above. Runtime: 2:21. Suggested ages: about 7–11.

Talk about it together
Who brought the message to Mary?
What did Mary ask?
What answer did Gabriel give?
What does Mary's willing yes teach us?
Listen, ask, respond
Create three speech bubbles: Gabriel's message, Mary's question, and Mary's yes. Summarize each in your own words. Under them add a harmless school task and practice listening, asking a clarifying question, and choosing a helpful response. Explain that unsafe requests require trusted adult help.
A note for parents and teachers
The narration adds room, light, and emotion details not specified in Luke. The eternal Son did not begin to exist here; his human life began in Mary's womb. Mary's trusting response is not a rule that children must obey every adult request.
Pray together
God, help us listen with faith and respond freely to your love. Mary, pray that our yes may be thoughtful and kind. Amen.
